THE PETRIE METHOD®
 
In 1957 the American Medical Association and the Brittish Medical Association gave the science of Hypnosis their stamp of approval as a safe, efficient and effective modality of treatment. It was in that same year that the Institute for Hypnotherapy was founded by Sidney Petrie to meet the need for a reliable center that the public could attend and physicians, clinics and other professional agencies could refer their patients in need of hypnotherapy.
 
Since the inception of the Institute for Hypnotherapy, more than a quarter of a million people have attended these programs, which are still steadily ammended and improved by David Petrie, co-author of "How to Stop Smoking in 3 Hours" (Warner Books).
